Health and Safety
Award-winning performance.
Health and safety begins with the right culture.
Our primary focus is creating - and maintaining a safe place to work. We’re proud that our safety performance is both award-winning and RoSPA recognised; we’ve been consistently awarded RoSPA Gold for the last twelve years, and we’re taking that commitment further each year.
The gold-standard for health and safety.
Winning a RoSPA gold medal recognises demonstrable continual improvement across all areas of the organisation, and we continually measure and benchmark our safety performance and safety culture.
We are very proud to have maintained a sought-after ‘Gold’ award from global standards organisation, the Leather Working Group, in recognition not only of our environmental performance, but also our people, business structure, and accomplishments in key areas including business resilience, and health and safety.
This was supplement by further endorsement of our working practices on the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange (SEDEX) platform via an independent SMETA accreditation which assures ethical trading and compliance with international labour standards.
As a family-owned group of businesses, it matters to us that people feel looked after; that their craft and contribution is recognised and respected. An excellent safety record is one part of it, so we go beyond traditional Health and Safety objectives to develop strategies that enhance our employees' health and wellbeing, too.
We review our health and safety approach with our teams regularly, to evaluate behaviours and improvement within the workplace. This initiative is underpinning cultural change and means we get real-time results that guide improvements, and allows our performance to be benchmarked externally across all sectors.
